Why am I running

There are several reasons I decided to run, but the most significant is my desire to be the kind of politician that people can trust and believe in. Spending a lifetime around the military has left me with a very strong sense of service to country and the people. Serving in the Army also instilled in me the Army Values; Leadership, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. However, one of those has always stood out to me above the others, integrity.

Integrity has been of significant importance to me because I think that is one value that a lot of people lack, especially among politicians. Integrity is especially important for politicians because people expect their elected representatives to do the right thing even when not being watched.

Another skill that the Army taught me was how to be an effective leader. Two of the key aspects of being a good leader is being able to listen and to lead by example. I want to be a representative that will always listen to you. The kind that earns your trust through actions and not words.
